It gives us great pleasure at the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) to learn that the Association of World Citizens Hong Kong China is rolling out a support group service for the transgender persons in Hong Kong. 

 

Featuring counselling by professional psychologists and sharing among group members, the service aims to provide emotional support for transgender persons, and assist them in achieving greater self-understanding and positive thinking,  as they face the internal struggle regarding their gender identity, their expression and possible transition.

 

The EOC is in support of this initiative by the Association nof nWorld Citizens Hong Kong China, which helps the transgender community - a minority group in our society - cope with the anxiety in the transition process, as well as the misunderstanding and discrimination they face  in society. 

 

We wish the Association great success with their support group service.
